Sometimes a decaying automobile in the backyard represents hope, not decay. My father and my Grandpa Stanley shared a vision of vehicular redemption, in this case, of Chevrolet Corvairs. What an odd design…
As you can see, Grandpa’s version was a blue sedan. In my dad’s case, it was a red convertible. That particular example of 60’s automobile oddness sat behind our garage for a decade, before my Dad finally admitted he would never have the time or resources to do justice to the restoration. He was able to find a willing buyer, who hopefully restored the wonder to its prior glory. In the case of Grandpa Stanley’s blue sedan, I don’t know its fate….
