First bee check

Bee check complete! Alright, so this is intense stuff...I am glad Peter was here for this hive check. We made sure the colony was doing it's thing, and so it was! Bees are an incredible created thing. My heart was both racing with anxiety (I have had some not so great reactions...keep an Epipen in my pocket just in case) and joy/awe of the privilege we have to take care of these little flying wonders!

The amount of comb they have made in just 5 days is astonishing! I don't understand how they do it, but it is awesome! We also purchased a hive to use as a swarm trap since we have had other buzzy friends visit our homestead. Not sure about the design for this hive, but maybe rosemaling? Other ideas?
