Waiting for my sweet Peter to get here so we can survey the damage up close and try to put some semblance of our two hives back together.

Not sure what caused the destruction, it's definitely more than the wind...maybe a bear?

We know there are bears in our area, but haven't heard of any reported close to our property. Heavy duty fencing, ratchet straps, anchors, and another camera coming soon.

The Bina and Sting bees are mad and definitely more aggressive than usual, I would be too. I can't get close right now, so this pic was taken at 10x magnification from across the field. The bees are all over the place, so for now I am waiting inside.

We will suit up and hope that we can find the queens and get some frames put back where they belong.

Discouraged, but also know that things happen in homesteading, failures and successes. Learning and trying again, but feeling sad today. This is not our first problem and it will not be our last, but it is the hardest challenge to date.
